Just in: Harvard will give free tuition for families that earn under $200K

Dear Parents & Students,

Good news has emerged from Harvard (and we believe other top universities will later follow): they are going to be giving free tuition for families making under $200,000. See below.

In order to compete for the best students, we do think other top Universities will follow suit and also reach into their endowment funds to make this happen. We think this is likely to occur most likely at the private college level as public colleges may not have the ability to do this without further federal funding.

The challenge of course is that it is incredibly hard to get into Harvard and the admission rates at top schools (T20) is declining every year.

More families are chasing scarcer scholarship dollars. This is why we are seeing admit rates at T20 fall while some lesser known schools are actually closing down.

Darwinism has never played such an apparent role in higher education, until recently.

The ONLY way to secure more scholarships is to aim for schools that have large endowments and have a proven track record for giving generous funding for students.

Students who have the best grades, best SAT scores, and strongest profiles will benefit the most from this changing landscape.

If you are a Freshman-Junior, you still have time to get your profile ready for success. But there isn’t unlimited time.

This year, do what it takes to stand out in the admissions process. The stakes are far too high to not give it your best effort.

Lots of scholarship opportunities are waiting to be claimed by students who have the strongest stats.
